Universal compressors and engine brackets
The compressor is the pump that drives the whole system. It raises the pressure of the refrigerant so that it can give up its heat at the condenser, and it circulates the oil that keeps its own bearings alive. Paired with the correct engine bracket, a universal compressor is a permanent answer on vehicles that have no factory part or that are having air conditioning fitted after the event. Before fitting a replacement, always establish why the original failed: a debris-contaminated system will destroy a new compressor within weeks.
A/C condensers
The condenser sits ahead of the radiator, in the direct line of everything the road throws forward. Stone damage, corrosion and blocked fins make it the single most frequent cause of an air conditioning system that no longer cools. Modern parallel flow cores cannot be flushed clean after a compressor failure, so they are replaced as part of the repair rather than reused.
Driers, expansion devices and the rest of the circuit
A receiver drier or accumulator is fitted every time a system is opened; its desiccant saturates in minutes once exposed to air. Expansion valves and orifice tubes meter refrigerant into the evaporator and block easily when a system has been contaminated.
